10th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering, ELECO 2017; Bursa; Turkey; 29 November 2017 through 2 December 2017In this paper, the basin stability of single machine infinite bus power systems with alpha-stable Levy type load fluctuations are investigated over the parameter space of mechanical power and damping parameter. The probabilities of returning to the stable equilibrium point are calculated for different characteristic exponent and skewness parameters of alpha-stable Levy noise to see the effect of impulsive and asymmetric load fluctuations

    Get PDF
In this paper, the probability density functions (PDFs) of the states of Generalized Chua's Circuit (GCC) have been modeled by Finite Mixture α-Stable (FMαS) distributions which is a Bayesian mixture model of α-stable distributions and it provides semiparametric characterization for the distributions of multiscroll chaotic attractors. Fully Bayesian approach has been applied to estimate the mixture parameters of multimodal distributions corresponding to the multiscroll chaotic attractors

IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems 2005, ISCAS 2005; Kobe; Japan; 23 May 2005 through 26 May 2005In this paper, obtaining approximate solution of Fokker-Planck-Kolmogorov (FPK) Equation using compactly supported functions has been discussed. With specific choice of such functions as piecewise multivariable polynomials which are supported on ellipsoidal regions, the parameters to be determined can be considerably decreased compared to Multi- Gaussian Closure scheme [1]. An example commonly considered in the literature has been analyzed and the proposed method has been compared with the Multi-Gaussian Closure scheme. The simulation results indicate that the new scheme is quite successful even if the driving noise is not white Gaussian, but has an exponential correlation function with small correlation time

Measure of covertness based on the imperfect synchronization of an eavesdropper in Random Communication Systems

10th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering, ELECO 2017; Bursa; Turkey; 29 November 2017 through 2 December 2017Random Communication Systems (RCSs) given in the literature have assumed perfectly synchronized transmitter and receiver. However in this paper, instead of assuming perfect synchronization approach in RCSs, the effects of imperfect synchronization (IS) on Skewed Alpha-Stable Noise Shift Keying (SkaS-NSK) based RCS have been observed through simulations. The Bit Error Rate (BER) performance of the eavesdropper with respect to his synchronization error in SkaS-NSK based RCS, has been analyzed. An expression for the probability of an eavesdropper to decode the binary information (i.e., Eavesdropping Probability) in SkaS-NSK based RCS, has been derived. The criterion (i.e., Covertness Value) to measure the covertness level of RCSs has also been proposed. The BER performance of an eavesdropper provides an approximate margin of synchronization error if it can be overcome by an eavesdropper then he can achieve the decoding (i.e., eavesdropping) process

New realization of Chua's circuit and verification of chaos by harmonic balance analysis

Chua's circuit, which consists of two capacitors, one inductor, two resistors, one linear voltage-controlled voltage source (VCVS) and voltage-controlled current source (VCCS) type non-linear element has been realized by operational amplifiers. Various dynamical phenomena such as periodic orbit with periods T, 2T, and 4T, single scroll and double scroll similar to the Lorenz attractor have been observed experimentally by changing only the resistance value of the linear resistor R6. The experimental observations have been confirmed by computer simulations and also using harmonic balance analysis

ECCTD 2009 - European Conference on Circuit Theory and Design Conference Program; Antalya; Turkey; 23 August 2009 through 27 August 2009In this study, the synchronization of the master-slave systems has been achieved and implemented on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). In this paper, the master system and the slave system have been chosen as Lorenz and Rossler systems, respectively. The feedback control rule has been derived by feedback linearization method. By feedback linearization, the coordinate transformation has been achieved then the control command for synchronization has been obtained. In order to implement designed synchronized system, Matlab Simulink design of the system has been translated to Xilinx System Generator design to generate Very-High-Speed Integrated Circuits Hardware Description Language (VHDL) code which is used to produce bitstream file. By Xilinx Integrated Software Environment (ISE) program, VHDL code is converted to bitstream file which has been embedded into FPGA by Field Upgradeable Systems Environment (FUSE). Finally, the designed synchronized system has been observed on the HP 54540C oscilloscope

26th IEEE Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference, SIU 2018; Altın Yunus Resort ve Thermal Hotel, Izmir; Turkey; 2 May 2018 through 5 May 2018Previously, the concept of Pilot Assisted Synchronization (PAS) and Fractional Lower Order Covariance (FLOC) has been incorporated together to synchronize alpha-stable noise based communication system which gave birth to Synchronized Random Communication Systems (SRCS). In this paper, an optimization criterion, i.e. FLOC Margin, has been proposed to improve the efficiency of the Fractional Lower Order Covariance based Correlators (FLOCCs) at the receiver side, hence, resulting in enhanced Bit Error Rate (BER) performance of SRCS. Since, the characteristic exponent and impulsiveness parameter are mainly responsible in generating and shaping up the required pilot sequence, therefore, the effects of these parameters on BER performance has also been observed by fluctuating them in their respective ranges. It has been shown that the proposed optimization criterion increases the BER efficiency of SRCS and also reveals the specific range of the characteristic exponent and impulsiveness parameter which can be exploited to achieve the optimum performance

n this paper, first the probability density functions (PDFs) of the states of Chua's circuit have been estimated using B-spline functions and then the state entropies of Chua's circuit with respect to the bifurcation parameter have been obtained. The results of the proposed B-spline density estimator have been compared with the results obtained from the Parzen density estimator. © 2012 World Scientific Publishing Company

24th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems, ICECS 2017; Hilton BatumiBatumi; Georgia; 5 December 2017 through 8 December 2017In this study, we investigate the changes in the dynamics of generalized Chua's circuit through a-stable Levy noise in the framework of stochastic bifurcation concept. By choosing the noise intensity, characteristic exponent (impulsiveness parameter) and the skewness parameter of the a-stable Levy noise as the bifurcation parameters we have observed the qualitative changes in the stationary probability distributions and in the structures of the stochastic attractors
